Het nieuwe juweeltje van de Tramfabriek is één van de twee overgebleven Nederlandse Backer & Rueb kastvormige stoomtramlocomotieven. Met een spoorbreedte van 750 mm, werd het gebouwd in 1900 voor de Gelderse Tramwegmaatschappij, werd het na haar laatste rit in 1957 opgeslagen. Tussen 1975 en 1996 was het te zien in het Spoorwegmuseum te Utrecht, waarna het in 1996 terecht kwam in het Openluchtmuseum in Arnhem. Wegens plaatsgebrek kwam het in het jaar 2000 naar haar passende plek, het Smalspoormuseum in Valkenburg. Hier staat het stationair en is één van de belangrijkste overblijfselen van de beroemde Machinefabriek ‘Breda’, beter bekend als Backer & Rueb. Deze locomotief mag dan ook met recht een echt ‘Backertje’ genoemd worden.
De Tramfabriek biedt deze Gelderse stoomtram aan zoals deze het laatst reed in 1957 en nu geconserveerd is in het Smalspoormuseum. Het is te verkrijgen in H0e en H0m.

DE AANDRIJVING
De in-huis ontwikkelde aandrijving is op zichzelf al speciale aandacht waard. Een klokanker motor, zoals u gewend bent van Faulhaber, en de riemaandrijving, gebouwd rondom een messing frame zorgen voor een perfecte lopende aandrijving. Zo soepel zag u een model met slechts een asafstand van 13,8 mm nog nooit lopen. De tram kan voorbeeldgetrouw langzaam het station binnen rijden.
The new jewel of the Tramfabriek is the one of the remaining Dutch Backer & Rueb box style steam trams. This 750 mm narrow gauge locomotive was build in 1900 for the Gelderse Tramwegmaatschappij (Eastern part of the Netherlands) and was stored after its last ride in 1957. Between 1975 and 1996 it was on view in the Dutch railway museum in Utrecht and then passed it to the Open Air Museum in Arnhem. Because of the lack of space, ‘Silvolde’ found a very suitable new home at the national Narrow Gauge Museum in Valkenburg. Here it is exhibited as a static object and is one of the most important remainders of the Machine factory ‘Breda’, better known as Backer & Rueb. This is a locomotive you rightfully can call a ‘Backertje’.
The Tramfabriek is offering this locomotive in the appearance as it was last on the track and currently in the the Narrow Gauge Museum. It is available for H0e and H0m.

THE DRIVE
Only the in-house built drive is already worth your special attention. A coreless motor, similar to Faulhaber, and the belt drive are built around a brass frame. This all guarantees an excellent ride. This smooth you have never seen a model go, with only a wheelbase of 13.8 mm. The tram can pull slowly into the station with prototypical speed.
VOLLEDIG ZELFBOUWPAKKET
Schrikt u niet terug om acht wandjes van 0.3mm dik in elkaar te zetten en het dak licht in vorm te buigen, dan is het volledige zelfbouwpakket iets voor u. Door gebruik makend van de tabjes die in de bodemplaten schuiven is het niet erg moeilijk, maar het is geen beginnerswerk. De aandrijving al volledig gebouwd.
Specificaties van het bouwpakket:
• Nieuwzilveren onderdelen los geleverd.
• Losse onderdelen zelf te monteren (naar keuze te solderen of lijmen).
• 3D print van ketel is reeds ontvet van de was van het productieproces, maar nog niet geverfd.
• Compleet gebouwde aandrijving met schijfwielen en gemonteerde koppelstangen.
• Nummer- en naamplatenset inbegrepen, naar keuze met 12 ‘Ulft’ of 13 ‘Silvolde’.
• Wordt geleverd in hard plastic presentatiedoosje.
Verf wordt niet meegeleverd. Een bouwhandleiding en verfadvies wordt hier gepubliceerd.
DIY KIT
When you are not afraid of putting 0.3 mm thin walls together and to shape the roof, then this Do It Completely Yourself kit is for you. Using the tabs, putting the panes together isn’t difficult, but I don’t think it is something that someone with no experience in soldering will be comfortable with. The drive is completely built.
