To take the flywheel off and you don’t know how to approach this, I think you will find this video very enlightening.

Remove the two clips that hold the motor in place.

Tap the brass adapter in the flywheel.

Slide the flywheel on the motor shaft (non wire side). You might not need to use glue, as most likely  it will be a press fit and stay in place.

When soldering the wires, note there is a little + (plus) on the side of one contact. I’ve connected the orange wire to the plus, here.

When you test fit the assembly in the model, it will be obvious where the flywheel has to be positioned.

Solder the wires on the underside of the electronics board. The orange wire is the + wire. When fitting the board back on the model, make sure the wires go through the hole and are not squashed between board and metal chassis.

Test it and when it’s all running perfectly, place the housing again. If you want to convert it to DCC, the sweet settings for several brands of decoders are explained on this page (click link). A 6 pin decoder for this model can be gotten here on this website.

This motor upgrade kit can very well be converted to DCC. Check the digital setting page, for many decoders, to get the best driving experience.
