A Tramfabriek original

Allrounder for all

On the model train market, you’ll find many motorised chassis for small models that are poorly geared. Often the worm on the motor shaft drives directly the gear mounted on the wheel axle. This lack of proper gearing will make it impossible to run at slow speeds and make it more suitable for the race track. This has been a thorn in the eye for me. For years I’ve been trying to find a way to produce my own drives that take advantage of the great performance of the 12V coreless motors of the Tramfabriek, flexible to install in many small models. Now I can say I have achieved this with the Tramfabriek Allrounder Drive. These chassis have all a modeller could wish for:

- Axels with brass bearings

- Outstanding slow running performance thanks to proper gearing

- Not racing at 12V maximum speed

- Smooth start at a crawling pace

- Quiet

- RP25 wheels

The plan is to slowly release more drives, not only model specific, but also small drives for generic use. As a one man company I have only limited capacity, and many projects going on. One of my priorities was to make a chassis for some of the Atlas Editions tram models, which they released in 2014-2015. These were static models and not prepared for fitting a motorised chassis, so tram fans had to find their own solution. For some models that I really enjoy myself, I’ve made a geared chassis. What I can offer for sale, will be listed on this page. Again, it really depends on the capacity I have.
